We completed a most scenic loop today.
It started as Clayton, Eric, David and I hiked to Temple Lake. The breathless calm made for one heck of a reflection along the waters edge.
From there, we ascended to the Temple Col through ever more yellow larches. The view of the east ridge of Mt. Temple was jaw-dropping, as was the distinctive shape of Mt. Quadra.
We took quite a steep line to the ridge-crest on the final approach, and soon found ourselves on the summit of Little Temple.
Next was a descent through a larch stand (noticing a larchy theme here?). We found our own way down through the thin forest, aiming for a lateral moraine a few hundred meters away. We followed this moraine down to a ledge above Lake Annette. Here, the splendid view, the good company and the gorgeous weather all conspired to ensure that we took a long break here (many two-bite brownies were hurt in the making of this hike).
After the lake, we looped back to the Paradise Valley trailhead where we were parked.
