David, Clayton, Eric and Myself headed out to Iron Creek Mountain today.
The weather was a mix of sun and cloud, but once we got higher out of the trees, it was WINDY! We took short breaks and used the protective cover of densely-matted trees wherever we could. It was amazing to feel 100 km/hr wind gusts and then step behind a twisted thicket of gnarly shrubs and be completely fine. David, being the lightest of us (130-140 lbs), had more than one occasion where the wind threatened to literally blow him over. Even I had to take a knee at one point.
The wind aside, the day was an enjoyable march across open meadows (my favorite meadow - 'Peter's Meadow is on this route) and through forested thickets. The company was second to none and I think we all enjoyed this fine fall outing.
