Clayton, Konrad and Myself went on our annual 'Snowpig Classic' winter backpacking trip this weekend. This was a few weeks later than usual, and the days were a little longer and warmer as a result.
The trip entailed the usual tasks of digging out the site, collecting firewood and ensuring our comfort for the coming evening. On the first night, we enjoyed a nice salmon (a 36 oz. fillet for the three of us!) with roasted veggies on the side. Smokies, cherry cake, oatmeal, mac and cheese, apple crumble and a wet bar rounded out our calorie consumption for the trip - we even had a cold beer in the sun - thanks Konrad!
On the second night, I lit a candle for a recently deceased old family friend - Dr. Joe Carroll. Be it hunting, fishing, camping or tending his veggie garden, Joe sure loved the outdoors and would fit right in at the Snowpig Classic.
