This was an outing that I had in the planning stages for years. I pieced together other sections of trail into a five-day outing I called "The Sawback Loop". It requires a fair bit of time off work, 95 km of hiking and over 2000 m of elevation gain, and a willing partner for company.
David and I had a wonderful time traversing four mountain passes, enjoying entire backcounty campgrounds to ourselves, and just living in the moment together for the better part of a week.
One outstanding memory was the exceptional cloud formation between two thunderstorms at Rainbow Lake. I'll never forget this trip - thanks for the company, David!
