This was a cool opportunity to volunteer with Parks Canada on a guided hike. The town of Field, B.C. was our starting point and our goal was to visit and explore the Mt. Stephen Burgess Shale Fossil Beds.
Access to this area is strictly prohibited and monitored - one must be in the presence of a guide.
The fossils were not only more numerous than I expected, but they were huge! What a fun day out this was.
