David and I scrambled up Mt. Roberta today - a small but rugged mountain along Highway 40 in Kananaskis.
Once we left the bush road leading to the Kananaskis Fire Lookout, there were faint scratches here and there, but we simply followed a well-flagged route uphill through the forest.
Once clear of the trees, we reached a col where the connecting ridge runs all the way toward Mt. Pocaterra.
We enjoyed easy scrambling to the summit of Mt. Roberta, where we took an extended break before heading down the way we came.
Having plans in Calgary that afternoon, this half-day outing was perfect.
