David and I finished off the official Super Saturday season today with a hike to South Willow Ridge.
The terrain was varied. There was no trail on this hike and we crossed several pastures, creeks, utility lines and forested sections.
After lengthy effort, we reaced the summit and had a quick lunch. We were getting cold, so it was time to move on.
On the return, a previously empty pasture now had some 200 cows in it, staring at us as we approached! They seemed nervous. We seemed nervous. We assesed the situation, erred on the side of caution, and hiked around the enclosure.
After crossing Willow Creek one more time, we finished up in the dark, with the snowy terrain providing enough light to avoid pulling out our headlamps.
