On day 1 of a multi-day trip to the Icefields Parkway with David, we ascended Boundary Peak (on the boundary between Banff and Jasper National Parks).
It was quite smoky due to the B.C. wildfires, but the immediacy of the scenery from Boundary made it worthwhile.
This peak has a straightforward ascent up a ridge that overlooks the busy glacier access road below. Hoards of tourists were being bused up to take a ride on the glacier buggy's that travel on the Athabasca Glacier. In sharp contrast, David and I never ran into another soul on this very simple yet rewarding hike. The Wilcox Pass parking lot across the street was jammed...perhaps Boundary Peak is the Park's best kept secret?
