This hike was the other option for June 23, but for an exposed ridge walk like Mist, it is better to save it for fine weather like was the case on June 30. This is a lengthy hike to begin with, but Clayton and I decided to tack on a side-extension that would involve some bushwacking on the return. The views more than compensated for the extra time and elevation gain though. In all, this was a 12 hour, 30km day with 1600m elev. gain. Whew! A great hike to enjoy our scenic beauty on the Canada Day weekend...and a mountain goat even showed up in the distance on Mist Ridge.
