This was a short but very enjoyable hike while visiting friends for the weekend near Columbia Lake. The B.C. Forest Service Road used to reach the trailhead is fun if you have a high-clearance vehicle.
Once on the ridge, there is enjoyable scrambling to be had, if one wishes to continue up to higher terrain. The view of Mt. Nelson beyond Invermere was a highlight...I'd like to try that one someday.
The weather was warm and sunny...a great day.
