After completing a short hike right from the campground (pic #1-5), David and I headed east to the Kootenay Plains for a hike. After searching for Survey Hill and failing to find it, we agreed to enjoy the bushwack and routefinding back to the Saskatchwan River Trail. When a small, diminutive hump evades you, it's best to take solace in the fact that you summited a major peak (Lion-Lioness). You just can't win 'em all!
The return hike was hot and sunny - and laced with all the typical Kootenay Plains scenery - open grass meadows and sparse pine forest - just lovely!
