Clayton and I decided to explore a large urban park in the north end of the city today. Nose Hill Park looks over the city of Calgary with views of the mountains to the west. The landscape consisted of shortgrass prairie with coulees of aspen and rose bush. Cultural artifacts from the Natives include buffalo kill sites and a cairn, but these are grown over and hard to find today. Natural artifacts include glacial erratics from Mt. Edith Cavell, some 400 km away in Jasper. These large stones were left behind by the last glacial retreat.
