I went for a hike to Cat Creek Hills today. The weather was 19 Degrees and sunny, and being a Monday, I was the only vehicle parked at the gate.
I hiked three km down the closed highway before branching off into open meadows to start the ascent.
I encountered a herd of elk on a steep grassy slope. They quickly caught sight of me and moved off into the trees.
The route continued up successively higher outcrops until the third and final high point. I had a nice lunch there before heading back the same way.
