Konrad, Chelsea, Clayton and Myself went hiking down in the Crowsnest area. Leah came along too, on a hike that proved to provide hours of scenic ridgewalking in ideal weather.
We first ascended along a powerline to an open slope of grass festooned with wildflowers. Higher up, we hiked along an ATV track before continuing onto large, quartzite blocks that slowed our pace. Soon the summit of McGillivray Ridge was reached, and we had a well-deserved snack. The fluffy unicorn summit register was quite a nice touch.
Onward we went to Ma Butte, with a fun bit of easy scrambling on the north side of the summit block. We enjoyed an extended lunch here, before returning the same way.
