I went for a shorter outing today, because I had to work in the afternoon.
Raspberry Ridge was the perfect choice. The trail begins in forest where random ranchland grazing is practiced. I had to shoe cows out of the way - sometimes they don't seem to want to move!
Higher up, I encountered some snow from the storms we had last week, although it seems to be melting fast.
On the ridge, the view westward opened up nicely. I was the first one up to the lookout, which had a lady on fire lookout duty when I arrived. I sat on the heli-pad there and ate my sandwiches before an easy romp back to the car.
