I went for a solo hike as an unplanned bonus to the end of the season. The crux of this trip was navigating the narrow, winding approach road with oncoming loaded logging trucks that were exiting to the highway.
Once I parked, the trip was much more enjoyable. Although the tiny foot-trail to Hunchback Hills is now a logging road (signs say it will be reclaimed once the logging project is completed), I soon veered off into the forest to gain the access ridge to the hills.
Pleasant hiking led to the summit, where delicious views to the west opened up.
The return hike was uneventful but still scenic. I patiently waited in my vehicle for an exiting logging truck to pass the trailhead, and then tailed him out 50 metres behind...much more relaxing around those blind corners! They are in radio contact and wait for each other to pass at strategically located pullouts.
