The weather was nice, so I decided to sneak in another Thursday hike before work (I'm on a mission for 40 'Super Saturdays' this year).
I started by hiking up the road toward Sunshine Village ski area. I then branched off at the Goat's Eye Express lift. I hiked up a couple of intertwining ski runs, followed by a scree ascent above the lift station.
The summit granted fine views of the surrounding alpine area, and the wind stayed calm enough for me to enjoy lunch.
This hike definitely had a different feel to it because you are never really far from man-made built objects. Apparently a lot of people drink beer and discard the cans from the lift chairs too. But it was a good workout to a summit I've never been to, and there are many peaks to identify with binoculars from the top.
