This is an intersting little interpretive trail, which begins right at the campground. We picked up a brochure of the seven stops and off we went.
The trail leads past old campsites and work areas where the brave (or desparate) rail workers blasted, pounded and cleared a path for the railway some 130 years ago. Many people were killed on this dangerous construstion job, contending with falling rocks and exploding nitro-glycerin (which was cheaper but less stable than dynamite). True git and determination resulted in a railway that joined Canada from coast to coast.
