Tower of Babel is an interesting little outlier of Mt. Babel. We started early and were the first up this day. A steep gully grovel quickly puts you atop a short ridge that leads to a flat plateau on the top of this tower.
The views from the top are grand indeed, as many noteworthy giants preside thousands of feet above, in all directions. The drop is sheer down on most sides, but the summit is roomy. And as flat as the top is, it has attracted the work of many hikers practicing their stonemason skills. The summit comes complete with a stone couch, three individual stone chairs, stone firepit, stone T.V. (which we added a dial to), and a stone cofee table with T.V. remote. We checked, but nothing good was on. The couch was really quite comfy, though - a tilted back allowed us to take in all of the mountain scenery.
A quick plank, and it was time to start the descent. Care had to be taken here not to cause rockfall on ascending parties. Toward the bottom, the gully widens and some great scree runs here were a nice way to end the day.
