Once or twice a year (depending on weather), there is a prime larch hike with the needles at peak yellowness and the sun shining in a blue sky. That hike was today.
We took a side trail to a lesser-known valley where Piggy Plus and Piggy Minus can be ascended. We hiked up a ridge, then traversed over to a high col between Piggy Plus and Mt. Burstall.
The weather and the larchy goodness made for a great outing.
