We went for a hike in Kananaskis Valley today. Megan hadn't been to Troll Falls before, so we checked that out first. Then, we continued on solo down Stoney Trail, to a junction with an electrical station.
Here, our route climbed steeply up a powerline. We came across fresh bear tracks and started calling out loudly to announce our presence.
The sun was quite warm at this point, and as we gained elevation, the powerline became more open with bare ground.
Higher up, we came to the junction of Sunburst Trail and the snow re-appeared as we entered forest again. The bear tracks also re-appeared - the only other tracks we saw today.
Upon reaching the old dilapidated fire lookout, we took second lunchsies on a picnic table there, and appreciated the nice view of Kananaskis Valley.
Upon descent, we took a different route and somehow ended up on the middle of a ski run! Oops. Oh well, a nice adventure on a beautiful day.
