This was a big day. With 35 km of distance covered and 2034 m of elevation gain, Clayton, David and I traversed Mt. Bolton from north to south and then visited the environs of Fording River Pass.
The only other people we saw all day were backpackers on multi-day trips. With a trusty mountain bike to access the area, it can be done as a long day trip - we were 15 hours on the trail and 19 hours from home back to home.
The trip took us over unbridged creeks and over muddy horse trails, into our neighboring province and over a tedious mountain with oven-sized boulders that moved when you leaned on them - time-consuming stuff!
I tend to take photos of the scenic areas and pleasant portions of my Super Saturdays. This trip is no exception. Maybe next time I should include photos of the trail-wide quagmire, the tedious boulder descents and the bruises (poor David suffered an endo on his mountain bike that caused him to eat dirt) - that make a trip report so much more real. I guess I have a habit of only taking out my camera when I`m having fun!
