Volcano Ridge has often been my choice for the Super-Saturday season opener. Due to flood damage in 2013, the access road is currently closed to vehichles, so we rode our bikes to the trailhead at the decomissioned Volcano Ridge day use area. The hike was accenuated by the early season blooms of shooting star, calypso orchid and forget-me-not. A fast ride out the gravel road back to the vehicles provided a fine finish to the day.
