Peter Waugh, Myself and Megan went for a walk in the foothills today. We went to a less-visited area of northeast Kananaskis called Sibbald. The scenery isn't as grand as other parts of the park, but offered it's own flavour of First Nations culture along with an interesting driving tour of the Jumpingpound (named for the historic buffalo jumps in the area) Demonstration Forest.
We hiked two adjacent loops - the Ole Buck Loop and the Deer Ridge Trail.
Following the two loops, we had a nice BBQ in the sunshine at Sibbald Lake - a wonderful end to my birthday hike!
