Wanting to make the most of the overnight dump of fresh snow, David and I dusted off our snowshoes and headed for Snagmore Hill.
This 8.5 km loop took us along the Elbow River, then through mixed pine and aspen forest. A long ascending trail took us up Snagmore Hill, then onto Iron Springs Trail and eventually back to Elbow Trail. We crossed through an open meadow on return, which is a bog in the summertime.
