Clayton and I had attempted Taiga Viewpoint back in November 2015, with knee-deep snow and snowshoes. The terrain was too steep and dangerous for our liking, and we turned back shortly after Frozen Lake.
This time, conditions were more favorable. Megan and David joined me for this hike, and Peter J. had arranged to catch up with us with his dog, Kitz. They met us at Frozen Lake and continued with us for the rest of the day - Kitz even got a priority porter service to the summit, where sharp rocks en-route could have likely injured her paws.
The skies were quite smoky from the ongoing forest fires in B.C.. Nonetheless, we enjoyed each others company and the hike itself.
