This was a short hike (2 hours) in very deep powder. We crossed Herbert Lake and continued up a mini-escarpment on the west side of the lake. Much of this area has interesting rock walls and crumbly limestone. We continued along a forested ridge until dropping back down to the lakeshore. Then we hiked up a small hill and returned through the deeply snow-laden picnic tables of the day use area. Apparently the scenery distracted me, for the lack of photographs.
