Day five had fine weather again, and I enjoyed a trip to the top of Mt. Richardson - my 200th Super-Saturday. It is the highest peak in the Skoki area at 10,122 ft (3086 m), and grants fine views of Hidden Lake, Merlin Castle and the Wall of Jericho. At the summit, I could see the smoke from the brush fire working its way north up the valley from Banff toward Lake Louise, eventually engulfing the small hamlet. During the descent, it smelled strongly of wood smoke, but not chokingly so. A rainshower this evening would be the only brief period of precipitation in my time at Skoki, and was well timed to clear the air for the final day.
