Gatineau Park is quite large, spanning about 50 km from end to end. We visited the southeast corner and took in a short trail called Pioneer Trail.
Typical in the hardwood forest here were trees such as maple, birch, ironwood, beech and oak. After Pioneer Trail, we wandered up the park access road which was still closed to vehichles this time of year. Birdsong and sunny skies kept us company while we chatted and enjoyed the scenery.
