Clayton, Eric and Myself headed up to Mt. Glasgow today.
There is a bike approach to the distant trailhead, and a ford is involved since the bridge was washed out following the 2013 floods. After the stream crossing and a few more kilometres, we stashed our bikes in the bush and began the tromp up Mt. Glasgow.
The scree wasn't as loose as I was expecting, and made for rather good footing. As we approached the summit, the windy day became evident even more. A ripping gale prevented us from staying long at the top.
It seemed as if bad weather was making its way toward us on the descent, but the specks of rain evaporated from the rocks as quickly as they wetted them. The sun came out late in the afternoon, and the ride back (aside from the return stream crossing) was very fast - a lovely hike and bike.
