The Waputik Peak route is a thrash-n-bash up the Bath Creek riverbank. That is followed by a grovel up a steep dirt gully leading to the fun part - a long, wandering ascent through rocky plateaus dotted with snowpatches.
The summit view was obscured by forest fire smoke unfortunately, but that is just a reality of late summer scrambles these days. Even the top of the mountain was stifling today - warm rocks, little breeze and thick smoke gave no pleasant spot to have an extended break, so down we went.
We weren't surprised to be the only ones on this route today - it's a lovely peak, but the travel isn't for everyone!
