The East Peak of Wendell far exceeded my expectations as a trip overall. Yes, there was a bit of a thrash-and-bash into (and out of) the back valley, but once you access this peak, the scrambling and the scenery are fantastic - all for a quarter of the crowds on neighboring Mt. Yamnuska.
After bushwacking into the CMC valley, stark pinnacles greeted us on the hillside, and made for a fine lunch spot.
Beyond the pinnacles, we rounded the turn to the southwest face. Much of the ascent is loose, so small and sparsely spaced parties work well here.
