Day one of our backcountry trip up Poboktan Creek went very smoothly, and with the tents set up by 11:00 a.m., David and I decided to give Replica Peak a try since the weather was so good.
We hiked the 10 km to Maligne Pass, where the scenery really started to pack a punch.
We left the trail at the pass and turned our attention to Replica Peak - a remote mountain with very few ascents over the years.
As we climbed, the view behind us grew to include several turquoise tarns speckled throughout the sprawling pass below.
After a brief steep grunt up a notch, we were on the summit ridge and enjoyed a relaxing snack at the top.
