Clayton and I wanted to squeeze one last ounce of viewing pleasure out of the fall larch season, so we headed to Gibbon Pass to see the golden trees.
The weather did not feel like co-operating this day, however, and we got geared up in rainwear while hiding under my vehichles open tailgate. It was then that Clayton found a water canister that had somehow turned upside down AND had an unsecured lid INSIDE his hiking boot. The gore-tex works both ways, and he had a boot full of water to start the hike...enter grocery bag over the left sock here for the rest of the day.
Clayton hiked with a cute little Mary Poppins umbrella for most of the day...he used its blue color to convince himself that was the color of the sky - very optimistic.
Once at Gibbon Pass, the weather improved for a few minutes and we were able to get some nice-ish photos of the larches there before retreating lower, to a warmer elevation.
