Myself, David and Clayton headed out to the bush for three days for another installment of our annual 'Snowpig Classic' trip. Photos taken by Clayton are noted with (CD).
This was David's first time on such a trip, and I must say he did really well. No complaining despite the -25 degree nights, carrying all his own gear and tools and even getting a fire started without paper...well done David!
The days were spent harvesting firewood, eating (constantly) and hiking. At night, we hiked out to the middle of the meadow and turned off our headlamps. Being nowhere near any light pollution on a cold starry night was a real treat. We saw the milky way and a mosaic of bright stars all the way down to the forest horizon. A trip such as this is truly a 'reset' button for one's mental health - the peace, quiet and solitude is very refreshing.
