This was a long day (just over 13 hours of hiking), with river fords, a long aproach and steep, loose scree on the final ascent.
I was gently encouraging Clayton to get a mountain bike for our next trip down this trail - it would shake a couple of hours off the day for sure. But the conversation was good and so was the weather, so a long approach wasn't all that bad.
After the river ford, we didn't see anybody all day up here, and the summit sported a fantastic viewpoint.
