Another beautiful day in this unbelievable streak of fantastic fall weather for 2012. This was my fourth "Kane summit" in four Saturdays, starting on September 15! This was a solo trip to the top of Mt. Field. The wind was calm, no haze in the sky, and virtually nobody on the trails...perfect Yoho hiking. I even snuck in a post-hike soak in Emerald Lake Lodge's outdoor hot tub.
According to the summit register, I was only the fifth person up Mt. Field this year. That seems hard to believe though, since it's not a major peak and it's visible from the road...I think most people just don't find the well-hidden register in the large summit cairn. Either way, the top provides a fantastic view...I was entertained for an hour and a half up there.
