I went on a 5-day solo backpacking trip into Mt. Assiniboine Provincial Park, British Columbia.
The hike into Lake Magog Campground was long (28 km), and a good workout with a 61 pound pack stuffed with enough food, clothes and supplies to last 5 days.
When I arrived at the campground it was full (there are no reservations available), but the overflow area was much nicer anyway. I set my tent up on soft grass in an open meadow, washed up in the creek, cooked supper and fell fast asleep. I had a busy schedule for the next three days, as I summited five peaks in the area.
